BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Chair of Entertainment Subcommittee
PRESIDENT
A lifelong resident of Derry, I’ve always been committed to supporting our local businesses, neighboring farms, and community institutions. Living in proximity to the Rail Trail and our walkable downtown, I feel passionate about the union between our green spaces and the unique experiences our town has to offer its residents, as well as people just stopping by. With years of experience teaching the Humanities and Theatre, I know very well the power of small communities when they rally around an idea. You will find me walking or biking to our lovely downtown with my family, an iced coffee in one hand and a basket of food in the other. Say hello and we can swap creative and fresh meal ideas anytime.
VICE PRESIDENT
I believe the farmer’s market is the perfect place for a community to come together, to make connections, to thrive and grow and build resilience around this foundational component of civilization: agriculture! Setting down roots means two things to me: establishing a garden and volunteering in the community. So of course, I jumped at a chance to be a part of my hometown farmer’s market. It has been an honor watching it grow and become so well-loved and supported by our community.
SECRETARY
My family has lived in Derry for nearly 20 years, as my children grew up, I became more active in the town. I served on the Derry Economic Development Advisory Committee, Derry’s Net Zero Committee, and I am currently a Trustee of the Trust Funds. I am thrilled to be working as the Market Manager for the Derry Homegrown Farm and Artisan Market. I’ve seen the Downtown Area in Derry go from a sleepy commercial strip with many vacant storefronts to a vibrant downtown area. The Market adds life to our downtown and has introduced the Town of Derry to thousands of people. We’re fortunate that committed members of our community have built Derry Homegrown, and work to ensure that the Market provides a great experience to both the customers and the vendors.
I’m looking forward to working at the Market every Wednesday this summer and doing my part to make sure that you have a great experience when you visit us. When you come to the Market, stop by, and introduce yourself.
TREASURER
I’ve been a resident of Derry for 22 years and love this community. Derry’s a big town with a small town feel that has given my family so many wonderful memories and opportunities to be part of it throughout the years. I’ve volunteered with the schools, the library, and now I’m happy to be part of the farmers market. As someone who is always showing my children how important it is to contribute to your community, the farmers market embodies everything I love about Derry. It centers around bringing families down to our historic downtown to enjoy fresh foods from small businesses, highlighting local businesses and artists while connecting with people that you might never have otherwise met.

BOARD MEMBER
To me, there is nothing more thrilling than a farmer's market. It combines so many wonderful things in one centralized location - fresh, whole foods, homemade goods, music, art, community and sunshine. I appreciate a product so much more when I get to meet the person who created it with their own hands. I hope the residents of Derry love attending this market as much as I loved helping to bring it into being. It has truly been and continues to be one the most rewarding things I've ever done.
BOARD MEMBER
As Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals can change the world.” A small group of volunteers banded together to launch Derry Homegrown with the idea that Derry deserved a vibrant market with music, artisans, and activities for the kids Downtown. Our community and vendors have wholeheartedly embraced the market since it launched. Derry Homegrown is not only a place to buy fresh local fruits, vegetables, meat, milk, eggs, bread, and treats, supporting our local farms and artisans; it is a place where the community comes together, and neighbor meets neighbor, in the heart of our historic Downtown. Since its inception, volunteering at the farmer’s market has been an important part of my family’s summer tradition and commitment to our community, and I am looking forward to enjoying another incredible market season!
BOARD MEMBER
As someone who moved to Derry 8 years ago, I’ve sought to make community connections and deepen my roots through volunteering. I enjoy fresh foods and locally sourced goods. After trying (and lots of times failing at) home gardening, I have a healthy appreciation for the hard work that goes into producing food. In a large community like Derry, I love the small town feel that the Farmer’s Market brings. I enjoy seeing our community come together through events like the Farmer’s Market and I’m happy to volunteer my time to make sure the market continues to thrive in Derry.
BOARD MEMBER
Since the summer of 2017 I have volunteered at the Derry Homegrown & Artisan Market on Wednesday nights after work. Wednesday quickly became my favorite day of the week! Interacting with the vendors, board members, and our community has truly brought me joy and I am so honored to be part of it all. Being able to share the market festivities with my family and show my children what it means to support local business, eat fresh, and serve our community is important to me. Whether the sun is shining or a storm is rolling in you can find me at the market with a smile on my face ready to lend a hand!
